We wondered about Farnell's aquisition of Cadsoft, the makers of Eagle.  What a great plan! Except...well, nothing much has happened. They've released a new version with some minor extra features, but that's about it.  What we were really hoping for was that all of Farnell's stock would have landing patterns available in Eagle, ready to go.

RS Components have a site dedicated to helping engineers do stuff - called Design Spark, similar to Farnell's Element 14. And guess what.  They've released a free PCB creation software that imports Eagle designs, and even spits out RS Component BOMs.  Now that's clever.
