Multicopter

24 Nov 11

Sometimes there are projects that are so cool, you wonder how they came up with it. Embedded Adventurer Marcin Kukla decided that making a multi-copter would be a cool project.  To do that, he needed to know what the altitude of the copter was.  A great way of doing that is using air pressure.  But you need a really accurate air pressure sensor - so Marcin chose the MOD-1009 air pressure sensor.

The MOD-1009 is based on the MS5611, which is a 24 bit barometric, absolute air pressure sensor.  You can see the controller board here:

We have been waiting on new stock of the MS5611 for some time - but we have confirmation from the manufacturer that they will be available at the end of November. Finally! The MOD-1009 has been a very popular module and we're delighted to have them back in stock at the the beginning of December. Last time they sold out in days, so we are taking pre-orders now. Note that the MOD-1009 (or the MS5611 if you just want the chip itself), will ship early December as soon as we have them.
